Evaluation: Timing Closure with Altera TimeQuest

Altera’s TimeQuest is an ASIC-strength timing analysis tool that helps FPGA designers solve post-place & route timing problems. Nuvation recently evaluated TimeQuest on a Altera Stratix II GX design project with a long list of timing errors. We were able to eliminate all but a handfull of problems in three runs of the tool. Features low-power TI DaVinci DM365 with Linux/ARM926 and integrated H.264, MPEG-4, and MJPEG codecs. Storage IP Cores for FPGAs ATA-5 with PLB bus for Xilinx FPGAs This IP core was introduced in Q1 and has already been implemented in licensee products. There are two new versions of ATA-5 Host/PLB for Xilinx; one for Virtex-5FXT with PPC440 and the other for all other Xilinx FPGA devices. ATA-5 PLB joins Nuvation’s family of ATA-4/5 Host Controllers for Altera, Xilinx, and Actel devices. SATA-I/II Host Controller for Altera Stratix IV GX In 2005, Nuvation introduced the world’s first SATA Host Controller for FPGA devices. We are now updating our IP Core for the latest member of Altera’s Stratix family and adding support for SATA v2.6 and AHCI v1.3. The Stratix IV GX features integrated SATA-compliant transceivers and supports migration to HardCopy IV. Nuvation’s core features an Avalon interface for easy integration and an AHCI-compliant firmware interface for driver simplicity and standards compliance. Early Customer Acceptance Test (ECAT) Sites are available NOW and final release core is available in August, pending certification tests.
